The upcoming futuristic drama, Into the Forest, has added two new cast members by way of Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood. The film is the big screen adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Jean Hegland. The two actresses will play sisters in the tale of survival.
Into the Forest follows the sisters struggling to survive after the collapse of society in the not-too-distant future. The novel, published in 1998, was set in Northern California with the teen siblings living in a forest home over 30 miles from the nearest town and several miles away from their nearest neighbor.
Page will also be producing the feature while Patricia Rozema directs the adapted screenplay. ID-PR founder and CEO Kelly Bush Novak and Sriram Das will also produce. Haroon (Boon) Saleem is exec producing and Kristina Sorensen is associate producer.
Wood can be seen next in the film, Charlie Countryman and A Case of You. Page just finished filming X-Men: Days of Future Past and is set to star in Queen and Country.
There is no word yet on when Into the Forrest will begin production or an anticipated release date. The rest of the cast has also not been announced.
