Magnolia Pictures has acquired world distribution rights to Lynn Sheltons family drama Touchy Feely, which had its world premiere in January at Sundance.
The film was produced by Steven Schardt and filmed in Sheltons home town of Seattle. Magnolia also distributed Sheltons 2009 comedy Humpday.
Touchy Feely is the second collaboration between Shelton and Rosemarie DeWitt, who starred in Sheltons Your Sisters Sister. Cast includes Josh Pais, Ellen Page, Scoot McNairy, Allison Janney, Ron Livingston and Tomo Nakayama of the rock band Grand Hallway.
DeWitt portrays a massage therapist and a free spirit, while her brother (played by Pais) thrives on routine and convention.
The deal was negotiated by Dori Begley at Magnolia, with Submarine and UTA on behalf of the filmmakers. Magnolias Christina Rogers will handle sales for the world.
