Woody Allens latest big screen endeavor, To Rome with Love, failed to make as much of an impression at the box office as last years critical and box office darling Midnight in Paris. Still, it managed to bring in a tidy sum between the domestic and foreign box offices, bringing in a little over $70 million dollars in total from its theatrical release. Now, fans of Allen who missed the flick when it hit theaters will be able to catch the film on Blu-ray and DVD.
January is usually a good month for Woody Allen fans, and next year will be no exception. To Rome with Love will be hitting homes on January 15. The flick stars Allen, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Paige, and Greta Gerwig in a flick set up into four vignettes that tells different stories--each with the lovely city of Rome as its backdrop. Even if you are one of many who isn't down with Baldwin, there are still plenty of other good names in the film to more than make up for the sometimes-unpopular actor's presence.
Woody Allen movies have never really been known for their special features, and such seems to be the case with To Rome with Love. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has put together one featurette with the set, which will be a sort of behind-the-scenes documentary featuring interviews from some of the cast and crew. Both Blu-ray and DVDs will come with the feature, called Con Amore: A Passion for Rome, but unfortunately, thats all the set will come with in the extras department.
