Superbad and Juno left their respective marks on the Canadian Comedy Awards and Festival on Friday.
The movies each received two Beaver Awards, presented at a special industry dinner at the Casino Regina.
A total of 24 awards were presented in four categories, honouring the best in Canadian comedy.`
Superbad, a comedy about two high school friends who are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their planned alcohol-fuelled party falls off the rails, won the Beaver Award for Pretty Funny Writing (Seth Rogen) and Pretty Funny Male Actor of the Year (Michael Cera).
Juno, a dramatic comedy about an offbeat teenager dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, collected awards for Pretty Funny Film Directing (Jason Reitman) and Pretty Funny Female Actress of the Year (Ellen Page).
Rogen also won a Beaver Award as Pretty Funny Comic Person of the Year.
