This is probably the most interesting bit of news I have heard in awhile. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ellen Page hot off the success of Juno has been cast in Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell. Talk about a tag team of talent! This will be Raimi's triumphant return to the genre with a script that he wrote with his brother Ivan right after making Army of Darkness.
Unfortunatly we don't know to much about the story other than it is going to be a morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse. Thats not much to go on but I'm guessing that Ellen Page will play said recipient of the curse. Drag Me To Hell is slated to begin principal photography in Los Angeles on March 17. The other bit of good news is that Universal has picked up all domestic rights.
"The appeal to Sam on 'Drag Me to Hell' was returning to what he had once done and loved doing, which was entertaining a very specific group of fans and providing a roller coaster ride for them," Ghost House Pictures Co-founder Rob Tapert said. "He doesn't have the enormous pressure here that goes with handling a hundreds of millions of dollars franchise."
