Montreal, Quebec, Canada (CNS) - "Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day" is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def.
The continuation of the low-budget, high-laugh Canadian comedy franchise was released today on home format by Alliance Films and Screen Media Films. The movie, highlighting the ongoing adventures of the title residents of Sunnyvale Trailer Park, comes complete with special features for further hilarity.
Picking up where the 2008 "Trailer Park Boys" TV special "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" left off, hapless criminals Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay) and Bubbles (Mike Smith) are released from jail after their latest series of shenanigans. But coming home isn't exactly an easy ride, as cat lover Bubbles fins his beloved kitties missing and taken in by an animal shelter with a steep fee required to get them back. Likewise, Ricky intends to finally pass his high school exams, and Julian makes plans for a new business as the trio's erstwhile enemy (John Dunsworth) plots against them.
Directed and co-written by "Trailer Park Boys" creator Mike Clattenburg, the movie's cast also features Patrick Roach, Jonathan Torrens, Lucy Decoutere and Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson.
The "Trailer Park Boys" TV series originally debuted on Canadian cable network Showcase in 2001. The mockumentary series and its characters have since been a hit in Canada and spawned a movie of the same name in 2006. The show provided one of the earliest roles for "Juno" star Ellen Page, and musicians Sebastian Bach, Denny Doherty and Brian Vollmer have appeared in the series, as well.
The film's special features includes a making-of segment, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, audio commentary and the featurette "Randy Gets a Haircut."
"Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day" retails for $24.98 on DVD and $29.98 on Blu-ray.
