Irish actor and purveyor of all things creepy (see: Batman Begins and Red Eye) Cillian Murphy will star in a new movie called Peacock for Mandate Pictures and director Michael Lander. Alongside him will be Canadian actress turned “It” girl Ellen Page, who also has some great experience in the realm of psychological thrillers (Hard Candy). The film, which pits Murphy as a man with a split personality that convinces a small town that he is both a husband and a wife against Page, a struggling mother who sparks a battle between both personalities, will take place in the American heartland, Peacock, Nebraska. As Yahoo! reports, the film will mark Ellen Page’s fourth feature with Mandate Pictures. They were the company behind the multi Oscar nominated Juno as well as her upcoming project Whip It, which marks Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut. Page will also star in the upcoming Sam Raimi-directed horror flick Drag Me To Hell. Peacock was penned by Ryan Roy, who also co-wrote Kite which is being produced for Warner Brothers by Leonardo DiCaprio. No dates have yet been announced for Peacock, but it is safe to assume that it will go into production following Drag Me to Hell and Whip It, possibly toward the end of the year.
