» Drew: Indecisiveness is unsexy
by The Press Association, published on April 1, 2010

Drew Barrymore has deemed indecisive filmmakers "unsexy".

The Everybody's Fine star makes her directorial debut in Whip It, starring Ellen Page and Marcia Gay Harden, and claimed her years of experience has taught her to be prepared.

"The first thing I am proud of is that I'm so prepared, so buttoned-up - I have worked with filmmakers who are a little indecisive, and I find them immediately unsexy," she said.

"Indecision is the most unsexy thing on the planet. I don't know if I'm sexy but I think decisiveness is sexy."

Drew, who also appears in the film as tough skater Smashley Simpson, added: "I also lose trust and faith in them when I realise I'm a bit on my own and that's a very disheartening feeling.

"So, whenever there's drama, I keep it off the set, I'm story-boarded and I'm very performance oriented. I love the nature of cinema, so I'm incredibly involved in the shots."

The 35-year-old said she's an actor's director.

"I'm certainly not turned on by tyrants and I would never be one, and I don't think the best work comes out of it. It comes out of joy, encouragement, nurturing environment and challenging each other," she said.

Whip It is released on April 7.
